Thank you to all the volunteers, signers and donors who made it possible for me to become the first candidate in Arizona to submit nominating petitions and $5 Clean Elections Qualifying donations to the Secretary on State on Monday, April 30.
On January 6, 2012, I became a candidate for the new Legislative District 2 Representative. My goal was to submit petitions and $5 forms by February 14-Arizona’s Centennial. Because of the Republican Presidential Preference Election we were not able to secure an appointment until February 21.
After we started processing my paperwork in Phoenix that day, the process was halted because the new legislative districts maps were not yet approved by the Department of Justice. The maps were approved on April 26.
A random sample of 15 Clean Elections forms were selected to go to the County Recorders for verification. They have 10 days to check them and then, I will be receiving my Clean Election Funding.
If you are in LD 2, I ask for your vote on August 28 in the Democratic Primary Election and I will provide the prepared, professional leadership the voters deserve.
